The flower girl, usually is an adorable little lady which proceeds down the aisle just before the maid of honor, scattering rose petals along the bridal path. She follows the ring bearer (if there is one). Traditionally, she carry a basket full of petals, but other alternatives include wrapped candies or confetti. Also, she can have a single bloom, or blow bubbles.
Having a flower girl is optional, but it’s a nice way to make a favorite little person feel a part of it all. The flower girl’s role is to support the bride and her bridesmaids by leading them down the aisle, gently scattering flower petals in their path.
Generally she will be dressed to match the wedding color and theme. Flower girls are usually adorned in beautiful, pretty dresses in white or ivory. A splash of color may be added with a sash around the waist, or the entire outfit may be themed the same as the other bridesmaids or maid of honour.
